I have been stalled in posting because I wanted to put up a picture and couldn't figure out how to do it and it seems that I am not the only one.
The real reason is that it's been so hot I didn't care but since Scotty has encouraged me I will go on.
The garden has been splendid this year with lots of rain untill now and of course this time of summer usually is dry. We have been watching the weather channel watching waves of thunder storms go over us but in Centreville we have not had a drop for a couple of weeks.
I am glad that because of the dry summer we had last year I decided to plant some of my roses and other things in containers so that they could be kept moist and looking good. This has worked . While the flowers in the ground are dry and drooping the containers are flurishing.
To keep the roses over winter I dug a trench and layed three roses ,bare root, in it covering them with a foot of earth. They came out green when I dug them up and are growing very strong and blooming very well. I would show you if I could figure out how to put up a picture.
I must go out and start digging a hole for the new pee gee hydrange that Joan and Ron bought me for mother's day. This dry period is not the best time to plant it but they are promising rain today. I can dig the hole anyway.
This is a pretty uninteresting posting but this is what is going through my head .
