God answering a prayer

Joan Phoned me to tell me what happened to Liz the other day.
Liz went shopping to Brantford by herself . Simon looked after the babies.
As she was going home down the 403 her car began to die. No lights or anything and of course she pulled over to the side . It was not a good spot by a bridge. There was not much room and the big semis whizing by . This was a bad situation. Of course she talked to God about it. She stood by the car with no lights but no one stopped .It was not a good spot for anyone to stop. She then went in front of the car and waved her hands and a car stopped to pick her up. God's angel was a Christian women from St. Thomas who drove Liz right to her house. Liz noticed that the woman had christian music and asked her if she knew DOWNHERE . The women told her that her daughter had a bi poler dissorder and that downhere was recomended to her.
So that was interesting how God is using downhere as a ministry where you would never think of such a thing.
It is so great and incouraging to see God answering prayer because somtimes we get discouraged when we don't see things happen.
I was talking to Lee and told her about this and she said Lucas listens to Wide Eyed andMistified
to go to bed with. I am glad that he is getting those good words and ask all the family to pray for this little guy.
Well Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow!!!! Have a great Christmas Mom
These are pictures of Liz with Josh (I know you can't really see the baby very well)
That is Lucas at a chess tournament.

Scotty's tree

I am sorry to say your tree is falling apart bit by bit. Remember when a whole section came down. ? That was when we had the camp. These pictures show the damage after a storm ,rain and flooding and wind Dec1 06 the first of this month. You can see about 15 feet of the top of the tallest part of the old cedar blew off onto the road and a new tin shed that Bill and I had erected to house our new generator blew right onto the front lawn. Ron and Allen put it back in place and the man next door cut up the tree for us.We had a small generator that got waterlogged in the flood so we got a better one and have it ready out in the new shed when the big black out comes this winter or whenever. I think everyone knows that somthing is happening to the world. It is very evident by all the strange things that are happening. Not only the weather but the increase in health issues plagues , famine, tornados, and I might as well add wild animals. That is a bit strange in itself but that is what God says will happen in the old testament . I can't just remember where. I will look that one up.
That tree was very tall . The birds sat right on top but that is the nature of life things get old and begin to decay and fall apart (I am thinking of myself) then die. I am thinking of this world too.
Its a good thing when you have a refuge that never fails . When this world is folded up like a garment we who trust in God will be safe in the arc. Hey have a good day. Love Mom

Hey got your letter today Scott thank you.
Now what pictures would you like today? How about the deer in my back yard this summer?

I took the right hand picture out of my bedroom window then decided to go out to see if she would run away but instead she seemed fasinated by the flash . When I began to go back inside she took a few steps to follow me.She eventually took off after I had taken 12 pictures.

Bye Mom

My cutting Mat

This is my studio Scott.
Even though you can't really see it there is a cutting mat on the table there. I bought it about a year ago at MICHEALS . When I first got it I took the plastic covering off of it and it was permeating a very strong plastic fumes so I placed it outside to air out . A week later I brought it in . It still had a strong odor but I wanted to use it. I must have gotten used to the smell because I didn't really bother me very much. I worked all last winter in that room that does not have an opening window.
Not long ago when there was a large downfall of rain our basement was flooded and everything in this room had to be taken out to put in a new floor and carpet . When I lifted up the cutting mat I noticed that it was still very strong odor from it . Then I decided to go back to get my money back but they told me without the bill I was out of luck. So now I have to figure out what to do . I believe that I am jepordizing my health using the
mat so I think I will put it out in the shed and use my old one,. MICHEALS told me they are now using a differant brand . I wonder why???. I bought the large one and it was about $50. The new ones are $179. I can't believe it. but they are not enclosed in plastic covering and you can tell they don't smell. Anyway that is my story of my cutting mat.

The quilt you see here is one I made and gave to the China mission.

Bye for now Mom

my cutting mat

Since the last time I posted our computer has had a new motherboard ( hey thats a good scrabble word) and Now we have one gig of memory. It sure has sped up .
Last year I bought a cutting mat at Micheals . It is a plastic mat that is used to cut paper or material on They are very expensive. Now when I got this one it was about $50 . and I got the 40% off so that is not to bad. I got it home ( it was in a plastic covering) I took that off but the smell permeating from it was so bad that I placed it outside on the deck for a week .It still had a smell but I put up with it. Well last month when we had flood in the basement I had to take everything up stairs while things were drying out. In the process I lifted the mat off of the work table and noticed that the smell was still quite strong. Now that was after a year , and I had been working in an enclosed basement room all last winter.(There are no windows that open)
I decided to complain and take the mat back to Micheals but they told me that I needed a bill which I had destroyed not too long ago. so I got nowhere with that. She did tell me that they had changed the brand. I suppose they had a lot of complaints. I went to look at the new type they were carrying and was amazed that the price was a lot more .The size I had was now $179.00
I would never pay that price. I am left with deciding what to do now .I think I am going to put it out side and use my little old one. I think I am jepordizing my health using the stinky thing.
This is a quilt I made and gave to a mission in China. I have started on a new one that has pieces about the size of bricks . I first saw it in a magazine then last week on Corner Gas . the older women in that show had a version of it on her couch.
That is my sad story . I tried to put on another picture but it didn't work . I must have done something wrong. Oh well bye for now Mom

electronics

Well to-day we went to home Depot and met a fellow that live close to us. I was telling him my problems with downloading. The trouble is that Bill bought me a membership to itunes but after over three hr. of downloading the programme it was wrong and we had not gotten anything.
This fellow told me it was because in our area we cannot get high speed and it is the land line that is the problem. We thought we didn't have enough memory but appearently that is not the problem. Gord told us that in about two months there will be a new antenia put up near Yarker
and we will be abe to get broadband at a good price .In the mean time I need to know how to get something to put on my mp3 thingy.
Its amazing what you can learn at home depot.
Now the fellow in the picture ( for anybody who doesn't know) Is Scott Orr who won a Hamilton Music award.
I don't know who took this pic but I think I could have done better. I did happen to catch it on TV and taped it.
I have come a long way in the electronics even since last week. I figured out how to put a picture on my blog. I really think I should get an award too. Now I know Scotty could help me learn more about my new mp3 player . I think he knows a lot or how could he make cd.s at home. He might read this and lend a hand.
Tomorrow I will tell you about my cutting mat. This has nothing to do with electronics.

Florida

These are pictures of Mary and I with our cousin Jean and her husband Brian in front of Ron's place in Homestead Florida . Ron took us to see the everglades which are only a half an hours drive from his place. That was very interesting and you can see by this pic of an alligator that you were very close to them. There was a board walk over the grass and water.
The other picture is of the bear's print out in our back 40. The one I am avoiding on the dog walks.
Yesterday Bill bought me a mp3 player and this morning bought me a membership on itunes. We need to get more memory on this thig. He tried to download the itune thing . We left it while we went to church , It was going to take 3 hr. then when we got back it still wasn't finished . Then in the end it didn't take. We have to do it over.

I have to figure out how to use this little thing now.

Well I am off for a walk with the dog if I don't come back dial 911.
bye Mom.

Allen the second

I cant believe it I figured out to put a picture up .I am so happy . I am not so dumb after all. Well this is Allen the second when he was about two weeks old. I think he looks like Sara more than Al.
Al brought his washing for me to do to-day ( yes I am still doing it ) Its a good thing I have a nearly new set of Maytags. The others got wet in the flood and hit the dust.
He told me that they were coming Christmas morning for waffles and bacon .and opening gifts. so we won't be by ourseves after all. now I can get in the mood to decorate a bit.
We got one gift certificate with our petrocan points. But that amex airmiles are making it hard for us. Their cat. says its easy but I am going to have to phone them. Their web site is not easy.
I dont think they want you to redeem the points. You just go round in circles.
night night Mom.

dogs and fleas bears

Christmas is coming and Bill and I will be by ourselves this year. Al will be at the inlaws and Ron and Joan are going to Nashville. I don't blame them I would love to go to but Bill has pnomonia and a bad shoulder. He has an apt. with Dr. Sorba onthe 14th. I thought that was a guy on a tv.show but he is a orthapedic guy.
It was the night before christmas and all through the house , not a creature was stiring except
Haley who was whining . That dog never stops. She has had a problem ever since Spanky left.
We could not figure out what was wrong with her. She would jump up and rush around the kitchen rubbing herself on anything that was handy. I took her to the vet and paid $100. He couldn't figure it out , he checked all the usual stuff , glands ,fleas , hips . Gave her a shot in case. three weeks later she is the same. Ron and Joan came and the dog was laying on her back with her four feet in the air ( a boxer) Joan could see she was infested with fleas and that was the problem. What a releaf to figure that behavour.I had been feeding the dog asprine because she was so desprate. We rushed out to buy flea stuff. She is better now but still a whiny dog.
I have been taking her out for walks . I took her up a logging trail at the back of us and found bear tracks but I didn't see the bear. I do know he is back there and its not very far from the
road. sometimes I venture up that road but not too far. I wonder if the bear will hibernate so that I can use the road. The problem with the street we live on is I don't want to meet another dog . Haley is 95lb. and if she got in a fight I couldn't do a thing . I am not strong enough.
I feel sorry for dogs . I think they should have jobs to keep them busy. Haley sleeps most of the time . No wonder she crys. I would too .
