This and That.

This is an unusual plant that grows in our back yard. It is named Prairie mist . You can see in one pic with the nodding headswhat it looks like at first then as it matures atclose inspection it looks like a mop of hairy string like petals? You can see why it is named Mist. I don't know much about this plant but think it is unusual. The other is a mushroom that grew by our shed .I believe it is a good eating one but as it was only one and we were wary we didn't eat it but did take a picture of it.

The dog's name is Haley and he is checking out the bird Jojo.(I didn't give it that name) In this pic the bird has all its feathers She then molted and never has come back to full feathers .She is gray fuzz belly and back but the wings and tail are green. I put her in the front window thinking she may need more sun but it has not helped her. I would like to let her go so she could fly south but I don't think she could find her way and I know she would freeze in winter also there is a hawk circling over the house. No I guess she is better off in the cage.

Sat. afternoon time to go to the dump bye for now Love Mom

There was a wild storm to-day

I took these pictures about 3:oo oclock today. There are two out the front window .You can see the wind blowing the trees but you cannot hear the heavy hail banging on the windows. It did not last too long. If you click on the unclear pic you can see it clearer .It is of the awning .

The picture of the hail we found a while after the storm and then our pear tree that lost three limbs. There was no pears on it this year.

I was glad of the rain we are very dry. Mom

"THE NIT PICKERS"

These are the "Nit Pickers of Napanee who are helping to knit touques for the children of THE VILLAGE OF HOPE. in Burkina Faso a small country in West Africa. There are three hundred children being looked after in this village . As you know Denise is walking from Burlington ont. to Melfort Sask. to raise funds for this village. Denise and her husband Paul have made several mission trips to the village and surrounding area Digging wells, health clinics, and building homes for these orphans. A women from the Church in Burlington decided to try to get touques made for each of the children and we are helping with that. This group of older ladies met at Margret
Rivers home on East st. She provided a lovely tea with strawberry short cake and whipped cream. So we have all gone home now to knit.

more garden

June is such a lovely month and the rain that we have just had has made everything so green and lush. Here are ajuga and violet by my archway that is falling down and I have held up with rope untill reconstruction takes place. This is also the site of the vine that Mary brought from Mark and Maggie's place and it has come through the winter fine. You can't see it but it is there beside the violets. This is an interesting and beautiful iris.
I can't remember the name of the vine BELL FLOWER?
Bill is recovering after having all his teeth removed last friday. He has lost over 30 lb. and is tired a lot and sleeps quite a bit . The dentist had a struggle to get out long roots and his gums are ripped up. It will take a few weeks to heal.
Gotta go bye Ruth
