"The Canadian Guitar Festival"

This is Allen's tent at the guitar fest.

The fellow trying out a guitar is a fellow from Germany. He played Firday night . He is a jass guitarist and was doing a tour of US and Canada.

he was very good . Bill could hardly believe the noises that came out of his guitar . It sounded like he had an orchastra behind him. I wanted to show you the stage but I can't find the pictures.

The other pic is inside the big tent. I would have cost more to be in there but Allen had the best supplied store. There was a couple of guys that made their guitars.

The attendance was low and wasn't worth the price but Allen got to meet a lot of people he would not have ordinarily met. So he made himself known

carving barbeque July 7 2007

Well here we are in our back garden having our barbe.

Mary came down from Port Hope on the bus and there were new friends to meet.

Linda did the ribs and chicken and everyone brought something, salads,chips,buns and that kind of stuff.

I didn't get a picture of the kids . They were riding the mopeds around.

We had a singsong and the food was great.

Everyone loved it.

More Birds

I took the pics of the geese and duck in the town of Haliburton . These geese were landing . Coming right at me .I was on a dock and was quite flustered as they landed in a flurry in front of me.

The duck was very close by and was guarding the nest. He was alert and ready to fight.
I took several pics of this king-bird . Not at all shy .

Then there is a pic of a butterfly on my korean lilac.

Here is Sara and Joan then Ron and me and Allen and Sara and baby Allen. We did three times around the half mile track in the evening . Monday last.

Sara and I want to walk every day but there are lots of things that keep us from the walk.

I took this picture of my garden one noon .I was having my lunch and this was my view. I thought I must take a picture of this. It was a quiet day without many bugs and it was idilic. I wanted to remember the wall I constructed and the garden too was the work of my hands with God's help. He makes things grow. I love the spring and want time to stand still but that is silly for then it wouldn't be special .

When the wind and snow are blowing around the house I will remember this day.
